We've had a great 1st week in 3T! All 18 of us (Wait, that's 19 with me!) have had a fun time getting to know each other and learning the routines of the classroom. I really enjoy each of the students' personalities and I'm looking forward to having a great year of learning. It's always neat to see the growth in each subject, as well in independence through the year. Some of the little 'big' adjustments students have been learning include writing in their planner with their daily homework assignments, using notebook paper, and going to recess with the older students. All of our subjects are now in full swing, so we'll now begin getting familiar with the 3rd grade learning standards!
About Miss Thurin: Since I've asked so much about YOU this week, let me tell you a little about myself. I'm so happy to have the opportunity to educate your child this year and help him/her learn and succeed. I love being a teacher! This is my sixth year as a teacher. My experience includes reading tutor, special education tutor, and this is my 4th year as a classroom teacher in 3rd grade. I'm a PG alum (Shhh, Mr. McAlister was my principal!) and a graduate of LHS. I graduated from Mount Union College with a B.A. in Early Childhood Education with a reading endorsement. Currently, I am working on my Masters degree at Marygrove College and will be finished in Decemeber. In addition, this is my 3rd year as the volunteer assistant coach for the Varsity Girls' Tennis team at the high school. I live in Canton, but my family still lives here in Louisville. My other hobbies include: traveling, working out, scrapbooking, and cheering on the Indians and Browns!I look forward to a successful year. Please don't hestate to contact me!
