It's hard to believe that we only have 5 more days of school till Christmas break! I hope you and your family are enjoying some 'indoor holiday fun' in all this crazy weather this weekend! Here's a look at some fun events in the week ahead! (Sorry, no new picture updates..Miss Thurin's camera is broke and is in need of a new one..boo!)
*It's SECRET SANTA week! Students picked names on Friday. I could see their minds a-buzzing with ideas on what to do for "random acts of kindness" throughout the week. We'll be making a 'kindness chain' to display things we've done to show the true spirit of the season. Gift exchange will take place on Friday morning.
*Speaking of, our Secret Santa goes perfectly with our chapter book "December Secrets" which we'll be finishing this week. Students seem to really enjoy this holiday adventure of the Polk Street Series.
*Mr. Adams will be in twice this week (Tues/Thurs) to finish up his conflict resolution lessons. We hope students will use the strategies he's discussing to solve problems at home and school.
*Why did Rudolph's nose change color? We'll be writing a narrative about this in English this week!
*Thursday is PJ and Grinch day! Students in grades 3-5 will watch "Grinch" in the gym on the big screen during the afternoon. During the morning, we'll warm up with some hot chocolate activities.
*Students always look forward to the Christmas Parties given by the room mothers on Friday afternoon.
I hope you have a BLESSED Christmas and New Year. May you be surrounded by love and happiness!
