This week, students will be enjoying relating their learning to pumpkins! It's amazing how many ways you can take a holiday or any idea and integrate the curriculum. For example, here is a little snipit of how we're integrating pumpkins into various areas this week:
Music/Reading: Halloween songs to the tune of familiar Christmas carols and rhymes
Reading: reading pumpking stories
Math: Measuring, Predicting, and Calculating information about the size of pumpkins
Composition: Writing fictional narratives about pumpkins
Art: Using arylic paint and other materials to create designs on our pumpkins
English: Correcting sentences and using pumpkin words to discuss sentence concepts
p.s. We'll also enjoy some pumpkin snacks on Friday during our Reader's Theater Preformance!
